The Noble and Romantic Practices of Evolving Consciousness
Evolving Consciousness is system of mental and physical exercises that combined together and practiced diligently will production spiritual and physical rejuvenation. The rejuvenating effect comes from the mental exercises, but the physical exercises are needed to create and maintain the correct mental condition and to help the body to heal.
Evolving Consciousness harnesses the power of the emotions, but not the superficial emotions that we all feel everyday. Evolving Consciousness reaches deep into the emotional framework that defines your personality and conditions your whole conception of reality. The emotional framework in the average person is contaminated with negative emotion picked up over the years living in our sadly less than perfect world. This leads to deep level pessimism, loss of ideals, and believe in the possibility of positive change.
The secret of Evolving Consciousness is to re-motivate the emotional framework so that your original childlike Noble and Romantic idealism is restored. Your body and your world are truly only what you make them and power to do to this comes from the emotions rather than the mind.
Thoughts and superficial emotions are by nature light and restless and this is the way they are supposed to be. Their function is to experiment, to scan and find new things for the consciousness to feed upon. The emotional framework is quite different in nature as it is heavy and sticky. It builds up habit patterns that are permanent and self reinforcing. The emotional framework gives stability and steadiness to your personality. When the emotional framework is correctly attached and motivated life is beautiful and meaningful. The aim of The Noble and Romantic Practices of Evolving Consciousness is restore and continuously improve the condition of the emotional framework.
‘Change Through Positive Peace’
Evolving Consciousness meditation is based on a twin principle ‘allow’ and ‘encourage’. In Evolving Consciousness we ‘allow’ that which we must tolerate but can never truly accept and so bring an end to internal conflict to achieve peace of mind until a solution can be found and ‘encouraged’. Many of you will have some knowledge of Oriental Meditation and know that the basis of this can be found in a single word ‘accept’. Acceptance is taught in order to bring peace and tranquility and stop the personality from constantly wasting energy fighting with things that it finds unpleasant. The problem with acceptance is that it is passive and easily becomes permanent as once something has been ‘accepted’ that tends to be final.
Imagine that you are sick and weak; fighting with this in your mind will only make you weaker. It is no use complaining or mentally beating yourself up for being sick. If you ‘accept’ the condition it will have less power over you, but only in passive way. Your chances of recovery are better than if you fight with yourself but only by small amount. If instead you ‘allow’ the condition this is purely temporary and until a way to recover is found and this can then be ‘encouraged’. ‘Allow and encourage’ are more positive and subtle than ‘Accept’. The balance between ‘allow’ and ‘encourage’ can be constantly and subtly adjusted as circumstances changes which is something cannot be done with ‘acceptance’ which is single concept. When are very sick we must merely ‘allow’ but as the body begins to strengthen we can increasingly ‘encourage’ this trend until recovery is obtained. The twin principles of ‘allow and encourage’ are used to first bring peace and then change and so we can summarize the teaching of Evolving Consciousness as ‘Change Through Positive Peace’
